According to the report on the renewable resources, there is a greater production capacity of energy from renewable resources in the Eusalp regions.

Especially in the Eusalp regions, Energy patents and start-ups dedicated to the circular economy continue to grow. Although their scope is still limited, the contribution they can potentially make to the national economy is, and will always be, more significant.
In the EUSALP region enterprises engaging in activities related to green economy are doing well. Excellent performances are underway for “green” jobs.
In the Lombardy Region there are 61.650 eco-investing enterprises , almost the 20% of the national amount.
Circular economy: the EUSALP regions shine due to the recovery of special waste
With 29.4 million tons of wastes recovered (37.8% of the total in northern Italy and 27.3% of the national total), Lombardy became in 2016 the first Italian region to recover such amount of special waste. The other regions that are part of the Eusalp such as Veneto with 14.6 million tons (18.8%) and Piedmont with 10.5 million tons (13.5%) did also very well.
Waste : Lombardy ranks in the first places for waste disposal
According to the Urban Waste Report of 2017 of the Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale (ISPRA), which includes data from the year 2016 on waste management in Italy, the Eusalp regions differ in terms of the generation of the highest percentage of urban waste such as paper, glass and damp.

In 2018, Legambiente has awarded 15 green flags for virtuous alpine practices that well illustrate the green and sustainable profile of the Alpine arc adopted by an increasing number of territories that also focus on inclusion and integration.
Environment, Tourism and Sustainable Mobility. The Eusalp regions in Italy have the highest rankings for the use of bicycles with Lombardy, Veneto and Piedmont among the best in Italy.
